Update #2 - The Statements

In September 2013 I was approached by the drummer from the Statements, Sean to record some new songs they had written, which ended up being their first EP to be released.  They had previously recorded a full album with Andy Ross at Astar Studios in Heywood but couldn't afford both the cost and time.

We ended up recording 3 tracks, Bad Cilla, Sleeping With The Enemy and In My Head.  The "In My Head EP" was released on iTunes in January 2014.

The band then returned to Starring Studio in late 2014 to record another EP.

Since then, the band have dropped their original record label and moved to Flick Knife records, who have released a compilation album of their 3 albums, called Makin a Statement.

Update #1 -North

It's been nearly 6 years since my last blog, so I thought the best thing would be to do a few catch up posts.

When I last posted, North were in the middle of tracking.  Recording was completed by August and mixing by the end of October.  Although at the beginning of recording,  North were a 4 piece, during the course of the sessions,  it became clear the drums and bass weren't going to continue when the project is was complete.  this became even more clear, when, during an audition session I was involved with, for another band,  North's drummer turned up!

There were also plans for a video or two,  but due to time constraints (one was a Christmas song and it wasn't ready in time for the Christmas release dates) these were dropped. I had a really good idea for a viral 'group dance' video similar to gangnam, but I'll keep that for another day.

A single was released in September and the full album (A Fragile Truth) was released a month later.

Since then I believe the singer and main songwriter have continued to perform as a duo for selected engagements.
